Literacy
One of the most important information literacy skills we are trying to teach students is how to ethically use information and media in their own work. Part of the PD program will involve discussing MLA citation, Creative Commons and our academic honesty policy so that teachers can model this literacy with students. Additionally, in discussing how to evaluate tech resources and whether they should be used, teachers will be given a rubric or list of questions to consider in planning their units and lessons. These questions will be built around the TPACK framework and integrated into our MYP unit planner. Teachers will also be taught how to use the Centre for Learning & Performance Technologies rankings for exploring, evaluating and using different web 2.0 tools.
