Project Proposal

The International School Breda is a small, new international school in the south of The Netherlands. The secondary school has a 1:1 laptop program with wireless available for both laptops and devices. The classrooms are equipped with iMacs and interactive white boards. In addition to hardware, the school uses Google Apps for Education, a WordPress blog network and a content management and grade reporting system called ManageBac.

Teachers must understand the role of technology in the classroom as a potentially transformative part of teaching and learning and not as an add-on. This website is a proposal for a professional development program of bi-weekly workshops within the school’s secondary program. The goal of this program is two-fold: to develop an understanding among teachers of the TPACK framework and the interplay between technology, pedagogy and content as well as a practical understanding of the technologies already in use at the school. The end goal is a group of teachers with the confidence to make more intentional decisions about technology in their classrooms that enhance learning.
